Winter Solstice Restorative Yoga

Two hours to pause, let go and simply rest

40 euros
St. Paul's, Glenageary

Service Description

Monday, December 21st, 7–9pm The Winter Solstice marks the darkest point of the year — and what better way to honour it than with two hours of rest? In the midst of the busyness and brightness of Christmas, this is an invitation to step away from it all for a while and enjoy the quiet beauty of a dark winter evening. We’ll begin with some gentle movement and breathing to ease you into your body, before settling into a series of deeply supported restorative poses. Think cushions, blankets, eye pillows, dim lighting and the simple pleasure of presence. A little oasis of calm in the midst of a very full time of year. This isn’t about stretching or achieving anything. It’s about taking the weight off — physically and mentally — and giving your nervous system some much-needed space. I’ll guide you towards a state of letting go in each pose and lead you through a long, deeply relaxing practice, with plenty of silence and space to simply be. No stimulation, nothing to consume or produce — just time to be present and rest. We’re often very good at telling ourselves that we’ll rest when everything is done. But Christmas will come and go and there will always be something else to do. So why not rest now, before we go into the fullness of Christmas week? Book this evening as a gift to yourself — a couple of precious hours to pause, breathe, let go and replenish. In doing so, this becomes a gift to those around you too because when we give ourselves the chance to properly rest, we emerge more relaxed, patient and present, better able for all that Christmas brings. Come and celebrate the Winter Solstice with me — in the dark, in the quiet, and at rest.
